We booked our tour with Skywide last minute (the day before) to Amboselli for 2 days. They were very responsive and also accommodated our budget by creating a special itinerary for us. Our guide Samuel was great at telling us about the animals and showing us all the different things. He had a minivan with a pop up roof, but it was no issue for us for the park and we got to see all the animals. We also had a tight flight to catch on the last day, and Samuel made it work and dropped us off directly to the airport. I have heard about Nairobi National park, but never had a real interest in visiting probably due to the many alternatives outside Nairobi. But this year decided to try it due to limited options. I contacted Skywide directly from the UK to organise a very last minute trip to Kenya, after previous travel plans to visit had taken a downwards turn. “Great Safari, terrible organisation & communication.”
We booked a 10 day trip with Skywide. A safari followed by Mombassa beach to relax at the end. The Safari was great but the relaxing part was anything but. We arrived at our so called 4* hotel in Mombassa and we arrived to a green swimming pool with mould everywhere, dirty bathrooms and flies on food. We called Skywide immediately to say we wanted to move to a hotel closer to what we had been promised without a mould and an out of action pool and their communication was quite frankly terrible- the hotel is FLAMINGO BEACH- (DO NOT STAY THERE!!!). The hotel refused to move us to sister hotel with a clean pool in use because they said Skywide refused to cover the cost, two hours later and no news from Skywide after several calls and emails we took matters into our own hands and booked a trusted hotel and left as soon as possible. We lost a whole afternoon (of a short 3 day break) sorting this out ourselves and Skywide would not reimburse the costs claiming it was far more expensive than Flamingo, they refunded us the stay at Flamingo and the price was half of what our new hotel cost. On leaving we arrived at Mombassa airport to learn our flight to Nairobi had been cancelled and no one of Skywide had notified us, the consequences for this could have been massive as we had a connecting BA flight to catch to England. Skywide arranged the airport transfers and booked our internal flights therefore this was their responsibility, the flight was cancelled 9 hours earlier and they hadn't let us know, Kenya airways were shocked no one had contacted us from as they let the booker of the flights know about cancellations. We got a flight with only 10 minutes to spare thanks to Kenya Airways running us through security, this was all due to Skywide's lack of communication and has we arrived at the airport on time and not early for our flight we'd have missed the earlier flight and our BA flight home. So the Safari was great but I'd argue most safari companies out there would offer as good a service, after all the Masi Mara is it's own experience regardless whose arranged it, but the trip ended stressfully and as my mums trip of life time at 60 years old I was very angry she had to encounter this stress. This was my third time to Africa and the worst company I've used I wouldn't recommend them.

It was an excellent experience for us to see a variety of wildlife, especially many herds of elephants, a large number of flamingos. Unfortunately, Mt. Kilimanjaro was mostly in the cloud, we could see the top of the mountain for a while. The driver/guide, Joseph is very good, His guidance was good, he understood what we want, and he behaved accordingly. Accomodation at Kibo Safari Camp was fine. One point I should like to suggest is that it would be much pleasant if we could have picnic lunch at an open terrace or in the open field, not in the dark house of a souvenir shop.

We really enjoyed our package overall, Received a very warm welcome at the airport straight into our drive to our first nights accommodation, Sawela Lodge, which was a great place, we saw giraffes from the grounds, food was good buffet style and breakfast was the same. We then drove to Mara river camp, an amazing camp located right on the bend of a river where hippos actually do live its not just sales. the tented camp is lovey with plenty of room for two. we had a fantastic few days here seeing wildlife right from our bed. only issues we had was getting hot water some days as its from solar or generator and our shower did had a leak that stuff were aware of. Camp was spotlessly clean throughout our stay , staff were very attentive, anything we needed was possible. The food at the camp was a basic set menu for all three meals, we only had breakfast and evening meals as we were out during the daytimes. Our safari into the Masai Mara was fantastic, an amazing experience to remember. made better by seeing the big 5 throughout our three days. Our guide and driver for our whole trip was Peter who was amazing, who i would recommend to anybody. Very knowledgeable and managed to be in the right place at the right time , allowing us to see everything we wanted. A genuinely lovely guide through our time in Kenya. We would recommend this trip to anybody and were very happy with the package put together for us for our time in Kenya.

We chose this safari for value for money and chose the basic accommodation 2 nights with 4 park drives. The tent was clean but in need of some improvements in the toilet and shower room, the hot water takes at least 20mins to start coming through but this wasn’t a problem. The bed was comfy but make sure you keep the zip down on your tent as monkeys can get in and rummage through your stuff, take a padlock for security. Torches are a must. The meals were very tasty, make sure you get an extra sausage at breakfast they were georgeous. The ritz it isn’t so make sure you are happy with basic because that’s what it is. We were very happy as we were there for the animals and thanks to our driver ‘Diggy’ we saw nearly all.... we decided to skip the last morning drive and stay out longer the day before which meant we could go further.... brilliant choice. I would definitely use skywide again but may upgrade the accommodation next time, the prices are reasonable so remember you get what you pay, if you what nicer accommodation pay more and choose a better one. Thoroughly enjoyed it

Skywide Tours were able to book our whole trip which included Victoria Falls, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Safari, Maasai Mara Safari and Nairobi. It was very helpful that one company could handle all our travel needs. We dealt with Peter Muthike and he was very helpful with arranging our trip to our requirements, as we were on a budget. I'm sure we must have driven him mad with all the changes and additions to our trip, but he was always very positive and helpful in his responses. The whole trip went without any problems. There was always a car to pick us up at airports and hotels. The Safaris were excellent. On the Tanzania Safari with Antelope Safaris we saw the big 5! The Maasai Mara safari was also wonderful. We only saw 3 of the big 5, but not for lack of trying by our driver/guide. Our accommodation was 3* due to our budget. All the permanent tented camps and lodges that we stayed at were clean and comfortable, with lovely staff and unique locations. Always pack a torch as the camps run on generators and the power is only on from 6pm-10pm and in the morning 6am - 8am! It was wonderful that Peter and David from Skywide Tours took time out to come and meet us in Nairobi, where their office is. We highly recommend this company for your tours and safaris in Africa.

Overall excellent experience during the entire 5 days. We visited several tribes during our visit and saw many different types of wildlife, including lions, zebras, herds of elephants and giraffes as well as many other animals. Accommodations varied from an adequate tent with working plumbing, to a tent in bad condition with a broken toilet seat, then back to a nice hotel. Our driver (Jimmy) was excellent and friendly, as well as helpful the entire 5 days. The vehicle we drove in had excellent viewing windows and a roof which opened, allowing for many photo opportunites of animals close up. A highly recommended experience for Travellers not afraid to rough it in tents or spend 5 hours a day driving, who are up for seeing the Safari closeup and having a unique experience.

I'm a solo traveler and joined 4-Day Safari to Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara with another group. That's very nice experience to saw many kinds of animal in both the National parks with animal life information from George and Alan (guides). It would be better if travel with the Land Rovers :) I missed only leopard in BIG 5 animal family so I need to go back again :) I stayed in Nakuru City Max Hotel for 1 night and the budget camp in Enchoro wildlife camp in Masai Mara area for 2 nights. I didn't have the early morning game drive before leaving as showed in the proposal because the group need to go to another national park and I didn't go with them as I come back to Nairobi. Last, I found something would like to open my camp door in early morning around 4 AM on the last day so until now I still don't know what is it.

We took private safari trip with Skywide Tours and Travel and we knew we were in good hands as soon as we started the correspondance with Skywide by email. They responded quickly to our request and were able to adapt the safari to our personal wishes. The lodges proposed by the agency were lovely and vey high standards, since we like smaller and more eco accomodations instead of big hotels they also adapted the safari to our needs and made sure the places we stay are still high standards. Our tour guide and driver was very knowledgable and nice, flexible to adapt the hours for safaris and other trips to our wishes, found places to try local food and even teached us some Kenyan songs. It was all in all a great experience and I can highly recomend this agency. The only thing we regret is doing most of our trip in Kenya by car and we might prefer flying some long distances instead, since the roads are sometimes not the best and very busy. That was of course our choice and we cannot blame the agency. If you would like to reserve some internal flights, I would also recomend to do it through Skywide, since they can advise you which airport is the closest and which flight to take (this includes small airports and flights that are otherwise hard to find online). The plane they reserved for us from Diani to Nairobi was very nice and modern as well. They also picked us up at our arrival to Nairobi and drove us to our Nairobi hotel, even through our safari with them only started two days later.

We are family of 11, aged between 3.5yrs to 72yrs from two different countries. Our trip involved three countries, 5 different flights at 5 different places. His knowledge of the roads, the animals, and the park comes from 28 years of guiding tours through all of the parks of Kenya. He is friendly and thorough, and an excellent driver, an absolute requirement in Kenya. We stayed in the Mara Leisure Tented Camp, another good decision. Giraffes and baboons hang out right by the camp entrance. The accommodations are exactly what you want after a day of driving over dusty roads: comfortable, immaculate, and relaxing. The staff is excellent and the buffet has all kinds of food.

So VERY pleased with our tour service - Skywide Tours. My wife got approval to present at a conference in Nairobi on Tuesday. I immediately emailed Skywide asking for a 3-day package to Masai Mara and David responded within 12 hours. After looking at our travel arrangements, I emailed back asking to move it forward by 1 day - to Sunday. Again, David responded in short turnaround on Thursday to confirm this was manageable. We met David at our hotel at 7 AM Sunday, along with our guide, Wachanga. During the next 3 days my wife and I were continuously impressed with Wachanga's engaging personality, his vast knowledge of large animals, birds, plants and geology of the Rift Valley, which he imparted while we BOUNCED along along the dirt roads which snake throughout the Masai Mara National Park. We found out that after being a school teacher for many years, he now is one of the longest-running guides in Kenya. As a result, in addition to his commitment to ensuring we saw as much wildlife as possible, his ease in the mechanics of a multi-day safari - as well as being on a first-name basis with many of the other guides and wardens in the preserve - made the whole experience extremely smooth. We stayed in OL Moran tented camp, where we were pleased to discover that our tent had a shower/toilet attached. The food was simple, but filling. Overall just what we expected for safari accommodations. As we were coming back into Nairobi we decided to engage Wachanga for the day on Saturday, 4 days from then, to go through the Nairobi National Park, David Sheldrick elephant orphanage and the giraffe center. Again, David and Wachanga were quite accommodating. We finished with a tour of the Kazuri Bead Factory, which employs several hundred single women producing incredibly beautify necklaces and bracelets. We had wanted to try an authentic yama choma meat meal, so we had a late lunch at a restaurant Wachanga arranged. During the day on Saturday we realized that our flight out the next day wasn't until 11:30 PM, so we asked if Wachanga could take us to see Hell's Gate National Park. Again, this was arranged without difficulty at literally a moment's notice. Hell's Gate offers multiple activities for a 1-day excursion, including the only park where you can leave the vehicle; a close-up view of the escarpments of the Valley wall; a walk up a narrow gorge with 'escape routes' up the side walls in case of a flash flood; and a close-up look at the geothermal plants that provide 10%+ of Kenya's electricity. On our way back we stopped at Lake Naivasha and took a 1-hour ride to see water fowl and hippos. As you can tell from this long review, we are enchanted with Kenya, and enthusiastic about Wachanga and David from Skywide Tours - their flexibility in handling last minute, ever-changing arrangements together with their local knowledge made this the perfect week trip! We encourage you to use Skywide, request Wachanga, and tell them that Alan and Diane sent you!

It was a very good experience. Mr Wachanga was a great guide. Unfortunately, we were not able to see all of the big five (leopards and rhinos were nowhere to be found) but we saw a lot of different animals, almost all of them more than once. The visit to the Maasai village was also a unique and very enriching experience. The tent camp was also pretty good. For a tent camp, the facilities were very comfortable; everything was very clean and the meals were also good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I think the worst was the travel itself; "roads" were very bad for the last 50km, but there's nothing we could have done differently.

Unable to get an affordable trip to Dubai in time, Skywide Tours and Travel were recommended to me after I posted on my FB wall requesting for recommendations. I got 10 tour companies, including well known ones but there was something about the guy I was dealing with - David that was very impressive. First he sent me a list of recommendations in a table form that made it easy for me to view the different packages available. From then on, his communication with me was very professional and instant considering I was dealing with several other companies at the same time, many of whose response I had to keep cajoling. Eventually, though I had never used the company, I opted to give them a chance for a tour to the Maasai Mara, with a van all to ourselves, the first time for my 4 boys (son, 2 nephews and a grandson) and I have no regret. The boys aged 7, 14, 17, 18 enjoyed themselves thoroughly. We had a good driver too though he has room for improvement as I mentioned to them later on explaining about stuff - He seemed a quiet type but respected us, gave us tips and his language was civil even when speaking with other drivers. We enjoyed his company too. We would definitely use them again and are considering them for a trip to Dubai in December. I would recommend them to other people any day.
