Amboseli National Park lies at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro on the Kenya–Tanzania border. The park stretches over 392 square kilometers of acacia woodland, rocky thorny bush, swamps and a Pleistocene lake, and is one of the most reliable places in Kenya to see large elephant herds against the snow-capped summit of Kilimanjaro.
